The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) has reminded taxpayers to take advantage of the ongoing 2026 Tax Amnesty Program to clean up their tax records.
The relief program allows eligible individuals and entities to clear principal taxes for periods up to December 31, 2025, and earn a 100% waiver on accrued interest, penalties, and fines.
To benefit from the offer, taxpayers must settle all outstanding principal tax amounts by December 31, 2026.
Here is the steps by steps on how to apply for the Amnesty Tax relief 2026

Access the portal directly at the official KRA iTax Portal using your preferred internet browser.
Log into your account using your KRA PIN and password, then solve the security stamp arithmetic to proceed.
Navigate to the ‘Returns’ tab and file all missing or pending tax returns for all eligible historical periods up to December 31, 2025.
Go to the KRA Debt and Enforcement menu to review your outstanding tax ledger and verify your balances.
Select the KRA Tax Amnesty Application tab and choose your specific tax obligation.
Review your principal tax balance and agree to the payment terms or propose a structured installment plan ending on or before December 31, 2026.
Generate a payment slip under the ‘Payments’ menu for the confirmed principal tax amount and pay via M-Pesa or bank transfer.
Submit the application form to trigger system processing, clear your penalties automatically, and download your official amnesty certificate.
