Oga Obinna launches Verifiedworkers.co.ke to connect Kenyan job seekers. Here is how to create your account and the truth behind the KSh 99 sign-up charge.

A newly introduced job site portal dubbed verifiedworkers.co.ke has sparked public debate across Kenya after requiring job seekers to pay Ksh 99 to complete their profile setup.

Popular media personality and content creator Steve Thompson Maghana alias Oga Obinna promoted and launched the online platform, drawing immediate attention from thousands of unemployed youths across the country.

While the job portal promises to connect Kenyans to job opportunities across various fields and counties, its mandatory registration fee has drawn mixed reactions from the public.

To complete the sign-up process, applicants are prompted to pay a Ksh 99 fee, which platform operators argue is necessary to verify users’ authenticity and attract potential employers’ attention.

However, many job seekers online and on social media platforms like Facebook have raised concerns about the ethics of charging unemployed citizens to be listed in job search databases.

How to Sign Up for Verifiedworkers.co.ke Job Site Launched by Oga Obinna

To begin registration on verifiedworkers.co.ke, open any web browser on your smartphone or computer and navigate to the home page, where you click on the “Sign Up” or “Register as Worker” button.

Fill out the primary registration form by entering your full legal name, national identity (ID) number, active phone number, and email address to create your candidate account.

Select your primary industry or trade (ranging from professional office roles to skilled manual labor), specify your skills, and choose your home county or preferred work location across Kenya.

Attach the required supporting documents, including your updated CV/resume, copies of academic certificates, or photos of your previous work to build your public profile.

Once all background details are submitted, the platform redirects you to a profile completion page requiring a final step before your profile can go live to employers.

To finalize account activation, select your preferred M-Pesa payment method and enter your mobile number to trigger a prompt requesting a registration charge.

The system mandates a payment of KSh 99 via M-Pesa, which the platform claims is a one-time profile verification fee required to filter out fake accounts and show employers that the applicant is real.
