Duale took to his official X account on Sunday, August 30, 2026, to praise Manchester United following their comeback victory at Old Trafford.
In his post, Duale described the performance as “phenomenal” while highlighting captain Bruno Fernandes’ contribution to the win.
Manchester United had to come from behind after Ipswich took the lead in the 29th minute through Leif Davis, who finished after Abdul Fatawu created the opportunity.
The hosts responded before halftime when Fernandes levelled the score in the 40th minute after Matheus Cunha capitalised on an Ipswich mistake and set up the United captain.
Manchester United then took control after the break, with an own goal from Ipswich defender Jacob Greaves putting the hosts ahead in the 56th minute.
Fernandes extended United’s advantage five minutes later after calmly converting a penalty following a foul on Cunha.
The Portuguese midfielder completed his hat-trick in the 68th minute, giving Manchester United a commanding 4-1 lead and putting himself at the centre of the comeback.
Fernandes was not finished, as he later provided the assist for Bryan Mbeumo, who added United’s fifth goal in the 82nd minute.
Ipswich managed to score a second goal through Chuba Akpom in stoppage time, but the late effort did little to change the outcome as United secured all three points.
The victory marked Manchester United’s first win of the 2026/27 Premier League season after they suffered a 2-0 defeat to newly promoted Hull City in their opening match.
For Fernandes, the performance was particularly significant as he scored three goals and provided an assist, helping United recover from their difficult start and giving Michael Carrick’s side an important early-season boost.
