Public Service Commission (PSC) Declares 1,000 Internship Vacancies for 2027, targeting unemployed ICT and education graduates across the country under the Digital Literacy Programme (DLP) Cohort 5.
According to a press release shared on the official PSC X account on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, the recruitment drive in coordination with the State Department for Basic Education is designed to accelerate virtual learning and digital infrastructure in primary schools at the sub-county level.
“The Ministry of Education, State Department for Basic Education, has declared 1,000 internship vacancies under the Digital Literacy Programme (DLP) Cohort 5.” The press release stated.
To qualify for these slots, candidates must have graduated no earlier than 2022 and hold either a bachelor’s degree in education with specialization in ICT, a bachelor’s degree in ICT, or a Diploma in ICT/ICT Integration in Education.
Applicants are expected to have skills in networking and infrastructure, application development, information security, and project management.
The selected interns will be tasked with training primary school teachers on digital literacy devices, assisting in e-learning content development, providing first-line technical support, and ensuring the safe, secure, and ethical use of technology in schools.
“Successful candidates will be appointed and deployed to schools at Sub-county level, where, in addition to acquiring practical skills and knowledge, the interns will play a role in supporting virtual learning and other related digital platforms, ” the statement further clarified.
The engagement will run for a non-renewable period of 12 months, during which successful candidates will earn a monthly government stipend and receive an official certificate of completion from the State Department for Basic Education.
Additionally, candidates must be willing to be deployed to any Sub-County Education Office across the country on a full-time basis.
