Former Deputy President and leader of the Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP), Rigathi Gachagua, has invoked scripture to launch an attack against the President.
Speaking at the Pentecostal Evangelistic Fellowship of Africa (PEFA) All Nations Church in Karatina, Nyeri County, on Sunday, August 23, 2026, Gachagua referenced Proverbs 6:16–19 to hit back at the Head of State.
“There are six things the Lord hates, seven that are detestable to Him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked schemes” Gachagua quoted.
The DCP leader further described the President as a liar and accused him of orchestrating division within the country.
“The Lord also hates the feet that are quick to rush into evil, a false witness who pours out lies, and a person who stirs up conflict in the community,” Gachagua quoted.
Gachagua was impeached on October 17, 2024, and has since positioned himself on the frontlines of criticizing the administration.
Stripped of his office, the former Deputy President has transformed into a relentless opponent of his former boss.
Gachagua’s post-impeachment crusade relies on framing the current regime as disconnected, punitive, and illegitimate, aimed at sustaining a potent anti-establishment movement ahead of the next general election.
During the service, Gachagua was accompanied by his wife, Pastor Dorcas Rigathi, along with several national and regional political allies who pledged their continued support for his political cause.
The Sunday address marks an escalation in Gachagua’s nationwide campaign to consolidate his political base in the Mt. Kenya region.
