How to Contact Kenya Power in Case of Electricity Blackout

To report emergency electricity blackouts or unannounced power supply disruptions, affected residents can instantly reach the Kenya Power National Contact Centre by calling the toll-free helpline 97771 or mobile lines 0703 070 707 and 0732 170 170.

For quick mobile self-service reporting without waiting on customer care queues, consumers across all networks can dial USSD code *977# on their phones, select option 2 for “Report Power Interruption,” and enter their meter or account number.

Customers can also submit written fault reports directly via SMS by texting the keyword POWER followed by their account number and physical location to shortcode 95551 for urgent processing.

For digital engagement, users can report faults or check local supply status by messaging the official social media customer support handles on X (formerly Twitter) @KenyaPower_care and @KenyaPowerAlerts or Facebook via Kenya Power Limited.

Written formal complaints, extended blackouts, and technical inquiries can be emailed directly to the official support address [email protected] for tracking by regional customer care teams.

When lodging a power failure report, customers must provide their account/meter number, exact location (including village, ward, street, or nearby landmark), and a brief description of the breakdown (such as transformer spark, fallen pole, or area blackout) to enable field technicians to locate and resolve the fault swiftly.
